In response to the tobacco epidemic in the Pacific island community, the World Health Organization-South Pacific Office is seeking to increase the tobacco control capacity of governments and nongovernment organizations by developing a tobacco control training module to form part of the current World Health Organization (WHO) non-communicable diseases (NCD) prevention resource and training package. The Global Smokefree Partnership (GSP) is an international multi-partner initiative formed in 2005 to promote effective smokefree air policies worldwide. GSP provides access to the best evidence for smokefree policies, assistance to those who need it, and by advocating directly for smokefree air policies at the international level.
